recently the piano.

He has been under the tutelage of the world-renowned operatic vocalists, Dr. Curtis Rhame and Dr. Daphanie Warton, learning from their passion for the art of music. His gift has afforded him many opportunities including as a member of the BCC Chorale being able to travel the United States performing at various events, including performing at the White House for former President, Bill Clinton.

As Summer quickly approaches In Season Music Group recording artist Derek Dunn is already seeing his career heat up in 2012, and there seems to be no signs of things slowing down. The preacher's kid from Virginia is a three-time winner of Star Radio Music Awards and nominated for three 2012 Gospel Blue Mic Awards, but Dunn believes all of what he is achieving now in his career is because of where his focus has been since the beginning.

His overall mission? "To inspire people to live for God," he says. Over the past 30 years he has been not just honing his craft but his relationship with his Heavenly Father as well, and this has catapulted him from singing in his father's church to sharing the stage with celebrated artists such as Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, LaShun Pace Rhodes, Jonathan Nelson, Deitrick Hadden, and Earl Bynum.

Living his life so he can be an inspiration to others, Derek Dunn understands that all that he has accomplished is not about him. It's a representation of the God inside of him. That is what he hopes to share through his music and the success it continues to generate.

Listen for and request Dunn's single "Hold On", and find out more information about him at www.tinyurl.com/derekdunnmusic.  For booking contact Charles Clark at cclark@nebopublishing.com or call 1.716.239.4370, ext. 101.

HAMMERTIME Co-Star Bigg Marv Heads To Mississippi To Promote Reading

Bigg Marv, known from the hit reality show on A&E HAMMERTIME and as co-host of the internet radio show The Conversation, is headed to Mississippi March 16,17, 2012 to promote the importance of reading.

Cyrus Webb, senior publicist for Bigg Marv and President of the Hip Hop and Books literary campaign confirmed on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 that Marv will be the special guests at events that will feature book giveaways, readings with children as well as a rally to encourage those in the entertainment industry to do more to promote reading. "Mississippi still has the highest rate of illiteracy in the nation," says Webb, 36. "Having people like Bigg Marv coming to the state and using his celebrity to promote reading will definitely help to shine a light on this important issue affecting so many."

Bigg Marv agrees. He has been the national spokesperson for the Hip Hop and Books Literacy Campaign for two years now, and believes that people in the public eye can do much to encourage those they meet to read. "I'm glad to do all that I can," says Marv. "What good is having the spotlight on you if you aren't going to use it to talk about things that matter? I'm excited to be working with Hip Hop and Books and Cyrus Webb in raising awareness for reading and even an education in general."

All events for the literacy campaign will be free and open to the public. Webb says the schedule for the visit is being finalized now and will be available no later than Feb. 1st. For details about the Hip Hop and Books campaign, visit www.hiphopandbooks.com . To keep up with Bigg Marv, visit him on Twitter at www.twitter.com/biggmarv .
